Aston Martin Vantage GT8 pictures - hotter V8 model spotted
Photographers have spotted Aston Martin's race-focused V8 Vantage testing; it'll rival the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and be limited to 150 examples, with 40 destined for UK

Spy photographers have spotted Aston Martin's upcoming Vantage GT8 ahead of the model's expected reveal this month.
The new lightweight, race-focused sports car is based on the V8 Vantage, and is due to be unveiled to a select group of potential buyers. Each attendee was sent an invitation to the reveal, complete with an early sketch of the car, shown in our gallery.
The GT8 is set to be the lightest Vantage yet made. It looks like it'll receive an almost identical bodykit to the Vantage GT12, with a fixed rear wing and an extended front spoiler, although these new spy pictures suggest it could get a less cluttered rear diffuser.
As with the V12-powered GT12 revealed last year, the GT8 is set to use carbonfibre, titanium and aluminium to create a stripped-out sports car that can rival Porsche's 911 GT3 RS. Performance details haven't been revealed, but 0-60mph is likely to take around 4.5sec – 0.3sec quicker than the V8 Vantage S.
Prices are expected to start at around £170,000, but as with the GT12, there will be some costly options on offer to further boost the GT8's performance. Expect to see a seven-speed manual gearbox offered alongside the existing sequential manual transmission.
Aston is said to be limiting GT8 production to 150 units, with around 40 of those destined for sale in the UK. The car will be fully revealed to customers this week, so expect official pictures and details shortly
